Mexican immigrants are the owners of 255,000 businesses in the United States, the largest group of foreign-born business owners in this country, according to a survey conducted by the Small Business Administration (SBA) in 2008. The survey only considered first generation immigrants and not their descendants. Hispanics (foreing and native born) own one million businesses in the U.S. with total annual sales of $155,000 million U.S. dollars.
Immigrants from all countries have started more than 1.4 million firms in the United States.
